Dr. Basil G. F. Springer is a Barbadian who trained as a mathematician, statistician and operations research scientist in Jamaica, Wales and London, England. He obtained his PhD at Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London. He practised as a Biometrician in the Faculty of Agriculture, UWI, Trinidad; the Caribbean Community Secretariat; Food & Agriculture Organization; and the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute, between 1968/77.
